Your role with us

Nuclear Heroes! We are looking for trainees who want to join us on our journey and development towards future energy solutions. As a trainee within the Uniper group, you are offered employment at OKG AB, one of our nuclear power companies located in Oskarshamn, while participating in the program during your first year of employment.

As a trainee, you will have the opportunity to explore different parts of Uniper's nuclear power operations with the possibility of two rotations within OKG and/or the group. You will have the chance to build an invaluable network within the industry and gain a deeper understanding of companies active in nuclear technology in the Nordic region.

During the 12 months of the trainee program, physical meetings will be alternated with digital seminars focusing on you and your personal development. At the same time, the trainee program is combined with regular work in the base position you have obtained. After completing the trainee program, you will continue to develop in the position you combined the program with.

Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and our operations are subject to regulations regarding security protection, export control, and nuclear non-proliferation. Therefore, we will conduct security clearance for all our employees and supplement this with registry checks for positions classified for security, in accordance with the Security Protection Act. As Uniper is part of society-critical operations in Sweden, this position may be subject to wartime deployment. A health examination, including a drug test, may also be required prior to employment.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for curious and engaged individuals with an interest in nuclear power and the energy industry, who value quality and share our ambition to maintain high standards and availability at our facilities.

Naturally, your personal motivation and interest will be important to us on your journey to shape your future with us.

We are looking for someone who is new to their career and holds an academic degree as an engineer in a relevant field, e.g., technology, operations, chemistry, radiation protection, physics, maintenance, safety, organization, and/or project management, or another background relevant to nuclear power. As Uniper is a global group with international contacts, you need to have good language skills in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken. Some travel may also occur even after the trainee program has ended.
